What hosting Kite Wars asks of a country, and what it returns
Kite Wars needs one wide summer field, four days, and a regulatory environment that permits bladed line-cutting inside a closed, permitted arena. In return the host country gets an internationally broadcast sporting first, several thousand inbound visitors in a shoulder week, and a founding-host credit attached to the sport permanently.
01
What we ask
A permit to run bladed line-cutting inside a controlled arena, a field of forty hectares or more with dependable afternoon wind, and standard event cooperation: policing, medical liaison, and visa facilitation for registered competitors from the kite-fighting nations.
—Written confirmation that the format is permitted
—Field access for eight days including build and strike
—Visa facilitation letters for registered competitors and officials
—A named liaison in the ministry
02
What we bring
Full event operations, insurance, certified officials, the safety regime, the broadcast, and international marketing in six languages. We hire locally for marshalling, recovery, translation, catering and build.
03
Safety and liability
Blades are supplied, fitted and collected by marshals and never leave the field. Spectators stand behind a fixed rope line, upwind of every lane and outside the drop zone. Wind ceilings, medics on field and a single-whistle full stop are written into the rulebook, and the insurance outline is attached in the appendix.
—Event liability cover named to the host authority
—Trained recovery runners only in open classes
—Helmet, gloves and eye protection issued with every entry
04
What the host returns on
Shoulder-season inbound travel, six-language broadcast exposure, a permanent founding-host credit, and a repeatable annual property if the first edition works. Economic modeling for a mid-size host sits in section nine.
