Every championship begins long before the first kite is launched.
Host cities are selected through a structured evaluation process conducted by Timl in partnership with Kite Wars International (KWI).
Every candidate city must satisfy the championship standards before it can be awarded hosting rights.

Safety & Legal Authorization
Written confirmation that championship activities may be conducted safely within a permitted competition venue.

Championship Venue
An open field with dependable wind conditions, sufficient space for competition lanes, spectator viewing and event operations.

Travel & Hospitality
Affordable accommodations, transportation and practical access for international competitors and visitors.

Government Partnership
A committed partner within tourism, culture or sport who supports hosting the championship and welcoming international guests.
