What hosting Kite Wars asks of a country, and what it returns.

01 · What we ask of the host

• Written confirmation that the format is permitted — bladed line-cutting inside a controlled, permitted arena. This is the single non-negotiable condition and the reason no city has yet been named.
• Field access for eight days, including build and strike
• Standard event cooperation: policing, medical liaison, traffic management
• Visa facilitation letters for registered competitors and officials from the kite-fighting nations
• A named liaison inside the ministry for the duration

We do not ask for a hosting fee, a purse contribution or capital works. The field is the venue; everything else is tents, rope and marshals.

02 · What we bring

Full event operations, insurance, certified officials, the safety regime, the broadcast and international marketing in six languages. We hire locally for marshalling, recovery, translation, catering, security support and build — roughly two hundred and twenty positions across the eight-day window, trained and paid at local rates or above.

Kite production, kit and merchandise arrive as freight; nothing hazardous is imported. Blades are consumable stock, controlled on the field under marshal custody and disposed of under local waste rules at strike.

03 · Safety and liability

Blades are supplied, fitted and collected by certified marshals and never leave the field. Spectators stand behind a fixed rope line, upwind of every lane and outside the drop zone. Wind ceilings, on-field medics and a single-whistle full stop are written into the rulebook and drilled during the officials' certification week.

• Event liability cover named to the host authority and the venue owner
• Trained recovery runners only in open classes; no public chasing outside youth lanes
• Helmet, gloves and eye protection issued with every entry and mandatory on the field
• Signed waiver and medical form on file for every competitor before they reach a line
• Abrasive, glass-coated and metal-cored line prohibited outright, at every moment of the event

04 · What the host returns on

Shoulder-season inbound travel, six-language broadcast exposure with the host city named in every frame of the bracket board, a permanent founding-host credit, and a repeatable annual property if the first edition works. Visitors stay a median of five nights and travel with supporters; the travel packages are built to route spending into partner hotels, guesthouses and local guides rather than a single resort.

A founding host is also first in line for the 2028 qualifier series and retains naming presence in the sport's record — the country where the first crown was awarded does not change.
